Originally established in the 1960s as the Gray Hawk Dairy by the Christian Appalachian Project, the farm was created with a mission of bringing jobs, opportunity, and agricultural education to the local community. In the 1970s, the Purcell family expanded the operation into a thriving dairy that once milked nearly 200 head of cattle while continuing the traditions of community involvement, local employment, and educational outreach. Though the dairy ceased operations more than 20 years ago, the spirit of the farm still remains. Today, the property offers an extraordinary blend of history, recreation, agriculture, and natural beauty. Rolling pastureland, mature timber, 10 ponds, flowing creeks, and even a scenic waterfall create a landscape that feels untouched and timeless. Wildlife is abundant, with exceptional deer and turkey habitat throughout the farm making this a true hunter's paradise. Improvements include two homes that could serve as rental properties, hunting cabins, or guest houses, along with six barns, two silos, and the original milk parlor - remnants of the farm's storied past that still stand proudly on the property. Whether you envision a premier hunting retreat, working farm, recreational getaway, investment opportunity, or legacy property to pass down for generations, this remarkable tract offers endless possibilities in the heart of Eastern Kentucky. ## Location - **Address:** 1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd, Mc Kee, KY 40447 - **County:** Jackson - **Coordinates:** 37.382561, -83.954901 - **Google Maps:** https://www.google.com/maps?q=37.382561,-83.954901 ## Listing Agent - **Name:** Brad Vinson - **Brokerage:** Base Camp Country Real Estate - **Listing URL:** [View original listing](https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1391-Lower-Adkinstown-Rd_Mc-Kee_KY_40447_M98616-02648?f=listhub&s=NYSMLS&m=11742637&c=propsimple) ## Photos ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 1](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2840483323r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 2](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1121449242r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 3](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f914899667r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 4](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f3606500755r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 5](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1342528022r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 6](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f3205034373r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 7](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2482239546r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 8](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f650343376r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 9](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2907937542r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 10](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f3334438245r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 11](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f107538516r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 12](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2103590065r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 13](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f550335941r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 14](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f3749826830r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 15](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f28958809r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 16](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1883097397r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 17](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1900274528r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 18](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1444238052r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 19](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f280827859r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 20](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1766163095r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 21](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f897503019r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 22](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2331882045r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 23](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2755992170r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 24](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f322623906r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 25](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2619838100r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 26](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1009813480r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 27](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1263221525r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 28](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2121235130r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 29](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f4014498107r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 30](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f2566645654r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 31](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f1262246740r.jpg) ![1391 Lower Adkinstown Rd - Photo 32](http://lh.rdcpix.com/9b5c3bb732de27db57d6bec6d7a8de1el-f268374223r.jpg) --- **MLS#:** 11742637 | **Updated:** 2026-10-20 **Source:** listhub *Copyright © 2026 My State MLS.
